Truecaller has partnered with Microsoft to allow users to clone their own voices in order to allow AI to answer calls.
Truecaller, an app that recognizes and blocks spam calls, will now allow users to create their own AI voice to answer calls.
Truecaller has partnered with Microsoft’s Azure AI Speech to let users generate an AI version of a user’s voice by recording them and then cloning them. By adding the personal voice capabilities of Microsoft Azure AI Speech, the Truecaller assistant is able to automatically answer calls, screen incoming calls, leave messages, and reply or record on behalf of the user.
A working demo of this new feature was shown at Microsoft Build, where Truecaller is an early access partner for personal voice. Users can record a few seconds of their own voice to create a digital voice to set up the Truecaller assistant.
Truecaller’s key features include:
- Caller ID: Identifies the caller and helps users identify if the call is a spam or nuisance call.
- Spam Blocker: Automatically blocks known spam and nuisance calls, reducing the need for users to answer unwanted calls.
- AI Voice Assistant: Users can record their own voice to generate an AI version to answer calls through the AI voice assistant. the AI assistant can answer calls, leave messages, reply or record on behalf of the user.
- Incoming call screening: The AI assistant will screen incoming calls and inform the user of the reason for the call, and the user can choose to answer the call or let the assistant answer it for them.
- SMS Filtering: Filters spam and advertising messages to help users keep their message inboxes clean.
- Number Lookup: Users can look up information about unknown numbers and learn more about the caller’s background.
- Call History Management: Manage and record call history, providing detailed information on incoming, outgoing and missed calls.
- Community Flagging: Users can flag and report spam calls, and this information will be shared with the community to improve caller identification and blocking.
